About Us

NCDC set up Flashpoint in 1997 with funds from the Health Authority. Then known as a Safety Centre, it has expanded to become Flashpoint Lifeskills Centre. It continues to be managed and funded by NCDC , working with partners such as Cornwall Fire Brigade, Devon and Cornwall Constabulary, the Environment Agency and Cornwall County Council.

Mission Statement

To reduce accidents by:

• Educating children and adults to change their behaviour in order to keep themselves safe.
• Improving understanding of everyday situations where accidents are likely to occur in and around the home.
• Raising awareness of potential accidents in the wider world.
