Flooding is an issue affecting a significant part of the population.

The set demonstrates the hazards associated with flooding and the actions that can be taken to reduce risk

Floods can happen anywhere at anytime.  Even if you are not directly at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea you could still be affected by flooding from other sources such as burst water drains and surface water run-off after heavy rain.

The set is equipped with items that will raise awareness about flooding and flood warning helping both children and adults realise what actions they can take to protect themselves, their family and property.

WE ALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO FEEL SAFE ALL THE TIME

You are on the way home and stop to chat to a friend….

You are meant to be home by 6.00pm. You are already late and it’s starting to get dark….

Would you take a short cut through an unlit area to get home faster?

Or would you accept a lift from someone who says that they live at the bottom of your road?

A visit to Flashpoint will raise your awareness of potentially dangerous situations and highlight ways to take avoiding action

You can talk with someone about anything,
even if it seems awful or small.

You open the gate and enter the farmyard - your friend is nowhere in sight.

Is he hiding amongst the hay bales?

Perhaps he is behind that old tractor tyre leaning against the wall - he may even be behind the trailer at the back of the shed, if so he could be in danger.

Did you know that agriculture is the only industry responsible for child fatalities?

On average 50 people are killed every year in farm accidents.

Always stop and think … Be Safe
